With a reputation for high-quality early learning and a strong commitment to developing future early years practitioners, the nursery, based in Hillington Park, continues to offer a vibrant, supportive space for babies through to school-age children, as well as those training to join the profession.
Open Monday to Friday from 7.15am to 5.30pm, the nursery also delivers funded places for 3–5 year olds and eligible 2 year olds in partnership with Renfrewshire Council.
While families know Puddle Lane for its nurturing environment, impressive soft play area, indoor grass space, and access to a community garden, another key strength lies in what’s happening behind the scenes – its commitment to staff development.
Lisa Drever, nursery manager said: “As well as providing warm and friendly learning environment for the children another important part of what we do at Puddle Lane is supporting people who want to build a career in early years education. We’re proud to offer high-quality training opportunities and one of our senior practitioners has just completed her Graduate Apprenticeship BA in Childhood Practice, and two more team members are currently working towards the same degree.
“We support modern apprentices too, including one who is about to finish their SCQF Early Years qualification, and we regularly welcome work experience students, giving them valuable insight into the rewarding world of nursery care. We also work closely with Kibble’s Skills Academy who provide training in sectors like catering and construction.”
